SolaX T-BAT home batteries
The T-BAT is a stackable lithium iron phosphate battery. It's built from modules, so we can size it to your evenings rather than a fixed product size.

Sizes
Each stack has a battery management unit on top of its modules. These are the T-BAT HS36 sizes on a single-phase inverter.
| Modules | Nominal | Usable | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 7.3 kWh | 6.6 kWh | 522 mm |
| 3 | 11.0 kWh | 9.9 kWh | 660 mm |
| 4 | 14.7 kWh | 13.2 kWh | 797 mm |
| 5 | 18.4 kWh | 16.5 kWh | 935 mm |
| 6 | 22.1 kWh | 19.8 kWh | 1,072 mm |
| 7 | 25.8 kWh | 23.1 kWh | 1,210 mm |
| 8 | 29.4 kWh | 26.4 kWh | 1,347 mm |
Usable capacity is based on 90% depth of discharge. We quote 3.3 kWh a module; SolaX's datasheet rounds slightly higher. Every stack is 510 mm wide and 365 mm deep.
Single-phase inverters take up to 8 modules on a stack. Three-phase inverters take between 3 and 13.
Which module you'll get
SolaX also makes a larger module, the T-HS range at 5.1 kWh a module. Federal battery rebates only apply to products on the approved list on your install date, so your quote names the exact battery and its usable capacity.
Safety and placement
- Chemistry: lithium iron phosphate cells.
- Fire protection: an aerosol fire suppression module is built in.
- Weather rating: IP65 on the HS36.
- Weight: each HS36 module is about 34 kg, so we check the wall and floor space during the site visit.
- Position: we agree it with you on site, out of direct sun. Close to the coast, SolaX recommends installing indoors, such as in the garage.
What it does for you
A battery stores surplus daytime solar for the evening, when you'd otherwise buy from the grid. With the right inverter and wiring it can also keep chosen circuits, or the whole home, running in a blackout. The size that makes sense depends on your night-time use, and the rebate changes as the battery gets bigger, so read the battery size guide before picking a number.
